Q. Are the workshops free?
A. Yes, the workshops are free to all Virginia educators.
Q. If I attended last year, should I attend this year?
A. Sure! Since we do update our website material annually it is recommended to attend a workshop to learn about the new materials. The workshops are also a great place to network with other educators in your area.
Q. Do I need a parking permit?
A. Each workshop site has different requirements. If there are any special instructions,
we will place them in the Parking Information section on your confirmation letter.
Q. Do I get CEUs?
A. Each participant that attends the workshop will receive a certificate indicating
that you have earned 3 CEU’s.
Q. If I attended last year, are there significant changes this year?
A. Yes, we have updated the website look and feel. We have also added additional features to Career Town.
Q. When do I receive my confirmation letter?
A. The confirmation letters will be sent to your workplace 2 weeks before the
date of your workshop.
Q. How do I confirm my online registration?
A. You will receive an email confirmation after you have registered. If you
do not receive and email, please contact us at 1-800-542-5870 or info@vaview.org.
Q. I did not receive an invitation this year, what do I do?
A. You may register for our workshops at www.vacareerview.com or by calling
us at 1-800-542-5870. Please email Virginia Career VIEW at info@vaview.org
so we can get you on the email distribution list for next year.
Q. Do I have to bring blank CD’s?
A. No, you will have the ability to access our website in the workshop without a CD. We will also provide you with a resource CD and interactive CD during our workshops.
Q. I forgot my password, how can I reset it?
A. If you have forgotten your password, select “Change Workshop/Updated Information” within the #wsDesc# #wsYear# Workshop area of our website. Then select the “Click Here” link within the “User Sign In” area. This will then prompt you to enter your email address. You will then receive an email with your password.
Q. Can I bring people that are not registered?
A. Due to limited seating capacities, we will only allow those registered to
attend. No walk-ins will be allowed.
Q. Who do I contact if I have a question regarding Kuder?
A. You can reach the Kuder trainer, Darlene Blake at BlakeD@ncasi.com.
Q. How do I receive our Kuder batch codes?
A. If no one has requested batch codes from your site, you can request your
batch codes online by selecting Kuder, then Administrators, then select Site
Information Form in the left menu bar. You can also contact Kuder support at
877-999-6227 or support@ncasi.com.
Q. Who do I contact if I have a question regarding Virginia Career VIEW services?
A. Please call our career information line at 800-542-5870 or info@vaview.org
This service is available Monday-Friday from 8a.m.-5p.m.
Q. If I would like to schedule Virginia Career VIEW for an outreach or in-service
training who do I contact?
A. We are available for outreaches from January-August each year. Since we are
a grant funded program we do require that our travel expenses are paid for by
the organizer. If you are interested in scheduling an outreach please call 800-542-5870
or email us at info@vaview.org. You can
also schedule an outreach on our website http://www.vacareerview.org by selecting
Educators then Workshop/Outreach Information.
Q. What are the computer system requirements?
A. Your computers will need the following requirements to see all multimedia
images on our website. All of the items below can be downloaded for free on
the appropriate website's.
Q. What if I cant access an activity on the website?
A. Follow these steps:
- Step 1: Please contact your internal IT department first to make sure the
above system requirements have been met.
- Step 2: Check to see if your internet connection is slow or down.
- Step 3: Do you have the latest version of Flash Player?
- Step 4: Are you using Internet Explorer 6.0 or later?
- Step 5: Check to see if your school firewall is preventing you from downloading.
If the firewall is preventing downloads, your IT department will need to update
your system.
- Step 6: All print publications can be accessed from the Resource CD which
does not require internet access.
Q. How long is each workshop?
A. Each workshop typically lasts from 9:30-11:30 for the Virginia Career VIEW training and 1:00-3:00 for Kuder training.
Q. Can I pick up materials for a colleague that could not attend?
A. Materials may be picked up for those that are registered for that days
workshop. Extra folders will not be available.
